Hail Merry Snacks

Have you ever wondered what a piece of heaven would taste like? If Unicorns were real? (They totally are) Getting the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow?  Hail Merry Snacks has answered all of your unsolved questions by creating these tasty tarts. These are some of the most delicious desserts I have ever had. They are flavorful, tangy, sweet, and best of all they use pure ingredients.

Coconut Vanilla Creme Miracle Tart

I am absolutely obsessed with Hail Merry Snacks. I met some of the wonderful Hail Merry ladies at an GF expo. I had never seen these in stores yet so I headed straight to their booth. The very first bite I was hooked! Then they started to tell me about them and my jaw dropped, and I grabbed another sample. Hail Merry uses non-gmo ingredients, fair trade, and mostly organic. They are all raw, vegan, and gluten free. The healthy trifecta! The Miracle Tarts come in a variety of flavors but my favorite was the Meyer Lemon or of course, Chocolate.

Persian Lime Miracle Tart

You can now find Hail Merry Snacks at Costco in San Diego, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado and Texas. They are selling their mini tarts which are delicious and perfect for sharing. They are just right for a tiny little dessert for yourself or bringing to a party to share. You can also find Hail Merry Snacks by using their store locator

Sea Salt Caramel Macaroons
The Macaroons are just perfection. Sea Salt Caramel is one of the best flavor combinations. Combine that sweet salty goodness with fresh coconut and you have one of the best macaroons ever tasted, and being gluten free i've tasted a lot of macaroons. By far my favorite ever. They also come in different flavors like strawberry, chocolate and blonde. 100% Annie's Gluten Free Grub Approved.

Cook Pigs Ranch

Bad ass ranch. Bad ass pigs. Bad ass family.
How could I not be intrigued!?

I took a trip out to the beautiful town of Julian, California to visit Cook Pigs Ranch for their open ranch day with my friend Kimberly from Atherton Baking Co. (Have you checked them out? You should!) I haven't be to Julian since I was a kid, so I was excited to head out to visit a local and sustainable pig farm. Cook Pigs is a 100% family owned farm that humanely raises heritage pigs. They raise premium pigs, slowly and correctly. I was hooked!

Pigs!

"The ranch operations are fully sustainable and self-contained. The feed program for our pigs consists almost entirely of the use of CSA (Community Supported Agricultural) waste products, such as tortillas, beer mash, and apples, along with acorns which are abundant from the many oak trees which we have on our ranch. We use all local vendors! No hormones or non-natural supplements are used whatsoever to speed-up the growth process. The pigs are allowed to grow at their own speed in the beautiful and peaceful environment which the Cook Pigs Ranch provides." -Cook Pigs

Little one!

It is pretty crazy to see all the work that goes into running a ranch.  It was so beautiful and well maintained. There were dogs, pigs, donkeys, and kids wandering around. I am a little envious of the farm life, especially on Cook Pigs Ranch. Thank you for showing us around and letting us visit your amazing Ranch!

To top the day off, Jeremy Manley from Jeremy's on the Hill was there cooking carnitas tacos using the pork from Cook Pigs. These babies were marinated in his "trash bag" marinade and they were so tasty.

Jeremy owns and is the chef at Jeremy's on the Hill in Julian California. If the tacos are any hint of what his restaurant is like then i'm sure it is amazing food.
